Choose the Record Custodian

Passaic County custody can pass through several offices. Start with the agency that physically processed or held the person, then use the court or receiving system when the record shows a transfer.

The correct next route depends on the question:

• For a released person or final release record, use the home page search and records steps.
• For current supervision, follow the Probation & Parole routes to the State Parole Board or Judiciary.
• For a recent timestamp, review the Jail Releases: 24 Hours fallback because Passaic publishes no feed.
• For a future date or alert, use Projected Release or the VINELink Inmate Search. New Jersey VINE can be reached at 1-877-846-3465 or TTY 1-866-847-1298.
• For a sentenced state prisoner, write to the NJDOC Correspondence Unit at PO Box 863, Trenton, NJ 08625 and use the official offender search. NJDOC says telephone offender-information inquiries cannot be honored.
• For parole, contact the New Jersey State Parole Board at PO Box 862, Trenton, NJ 08625; 171 Jersey Street, Building 2, Trenton; 609-292-4257; or SPB-Public-Info-Office@spb.nj.gov. For probation, use Passaic County Probation at 55 Dale Avenue, Paterson, NJ 07505 and the Judiciary directory at 973-653-2910. Neither route is a public name search.
• For federal or immigration custody, use the BOP Inmate Locator or ICE ODLS; ICE DRIL is 1-888-351-4024 on weekdays, excluding holidays, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Eastern.
